RED HULK!

just discovered a couple of awesome comic shops in hong kong! i was under the impression that they didnt exist here since the one in the SINO CENTRE turned into nothing more than a toy shop!
METRO COMICS & CLARKS COMICS are in CAUSEWAY BAY SHOPPING CENTRE on sugar street (i'll go into more detail with my next post!)
anyway.... as the title of this post would suggest, this is about the new RED HULK!
for those of you that dont know, over the years the hulk has a few personas & the newest is "THE RED HULK!" i dont want to give too much away, but BRUCE BANNER is locked in a secure underground bunker, so who the hell is RED HULK?!?!?!
issue 4 comes out tomorrow, so get your arses down to causeway bay & pick 'em up!

also worth checking out is WOLVERINE 66, which starts a new story entitled "OLD MAN LOGAN" which is set 50 years in the future. not a nice place!

X MEN!

ok, so those of you who know me will be suprised to see me making this post!
i was convinced that the x men movies sucked, i only saw the end of the 1st one & didnt watch 2 or 3............. well last week we had a movie marathon & watched all 3 in a row & i FUCKING LOVED THEM!
so anyway, did a bit of research today regarding the WOLVERINE movie & it looks like it's going to be awesome! basically explains wolverines past, shows him during WW2 & the vietnam war + his involvement in the ominous WEAPON X project.

CONTROL

just watched "control" a film by anton corbijn about the life/death of joy division vocalist ian curtis.
formed in 1976, they pionered the post/punk sound of the late 70's.
for those of you who dont know, joy division later became new order.
although they were only around for 4 years, they were an incredibly important & influential uk band, as new order were also to become in their own right.
joy division & new order are two of my favourite bands of all time.
below is the trailer for the film, their 1st tv appearanve, 2 live tracks & the video for "love will tear us apart" as well as john fruscianti's acoustic cover of "new dawn fades" & new order performing "atmosphere"
enjoy, & if you dont already own any joy division, go buy some!
hk records has an awesome double vinyl.

"shadow play" live on granada tv, 1st tv appearance

"atmosphere" new order (originaly recorded as new order)

ok, havent made a post for a few days, so thought i'd say something!
ive been working on a couple of tattoo machine re-builds, (i will post pics when they are finished) julia & i finished our canvases for the "skin & ink" show, & we went to see the ne indiana jones movie, which is awesome!

MORE RAT ALLEY!

Ok, so had a RAT ALLEY practise today & we have 5 new songs, 4 with vocals (one of them only has 3 lines!) & 1 that still needs some words.
below is video for "LIVEFASTDIE" which is kinda stupid, but we enjoy it!

SPOILT HK BANDS!

wow, just re-watched the Converge "long road home" video, & i realised most of the venues are like school halls! the pa's are not amazing, & yet anything less than perfection doesnt seem to be good enough for a lot of local hk bands.
then again, Converge have a true punk/hardcore attitude, these guys just wanna bust their asses playing as many shows as possible.
im glad a small punk scene is starting to show up in hk, oi! squad, defiant scum & my band (rat alley) will be playing more shows soon, & we will put on a good show with whatever we got!
if i could afford to i would be putting on shows everyweek, but with the cost of kit i cant, this could be one of the many things holding hk back, coz lets face it for a city like hk, the music scene is weak.
