Ok, so I have no idea if this is gonna get approved but I love it so I thought I'd post it! Buffalo Hunter was the 1st track recorded, so I just came up with the idea & went with it. It's kinda small so you cant make out the dot-tone, but it looks sweet full size! So far the back only has "Buffalo Hunter" on it, 'coz I dont know the full track list yet.
Discombobulation are FINALLY making some good quality recordings! They recorded a cd for SCT (my label) last year, but Arthur recorded it & it was almost unlistenable. This time Corey Tam is @ the helm & it is being recorded @ This Music Studio. Things are going really well, It's being recorded live & Corey has done an awesome job of mic'ing everything up, just like he always does @ Pier Pressure & it should really show their full potential. It's going to be a 4 track ep, Im about to start work on the artwork! Hopefully everything will be ready for Pier Pressure on the 29th March, they will be supporting From This Day, along with Sedlec, The Squawk, Shepherds The Weak, King Ly Chee. If anyone is thinking of recording anytime soon, you should get in touch with Corey! I'll post some details for the studio soon.
Ok, so im FINALLY going to get around to making usefull posts............. yesterday (24th) was my 2nd wedding anniversary & my lovely wife Julia & i went for dinner, the day before was PIER PRESSURE! I didnt actually have the reigns for this one, as Riz was in charge. The line up was AWESOME! First up was Protos, then "The Lovesong" who played a superb set of new songs + old favourites including eastern moments which they dedicated to Julia & I for our anniversary.
Next up was "King Ly Chee" who as always played a solid set, with Mike from Shepherds The weak filling in on drums.
"Shepherds The Weak" came on in fourth place, these guys just keep getting better & better! If you live in Hong Kong & havent seen these guys live, you need to get your arse in gear, if you are abroad then you need to hunt them down on myspace & book them to come over to where you do live, coz like all the bands that played tonight they can easily rival anything coming out of Europe or the States!
Headlining tonight was "Piledriver" who where visiting from the Philippines, playing full-on New York style hardcore! They put on an awesome show & I hope they make it out this way again soon.
After the show I headed out to Wanchai to my favourite bar, AMAZONIA! This place has the best house band in Hong Kong, they can play anything & make it sound as good as or better than the original! By this point i was pretty wasted, but Joe Hastings was in a far worse state as the pics below prove! we spent the next couple of hours singing along to The Ramones, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Sublime etc. Goods times were had by all!
lazy start, 2 days off work, went for an awesome chili @ some friends house on wednesday, rocked the night away on guitar hero 3! back to work today, short new year celebration for us.
so, im in the process of starting a band, me (going by the name SC) Caligula on guitar & 10:66 on drums. kinda old school hardcore/punk/grind/old school metal/stoner/doom/thrash/crust hybrid! were calling ourselves "Rat Alley" which feels like a good name for the year of the rat, the name came around during a drunken conversation between me & joe (10:66) on rat alley, lan kwai fong.
caligula & 10:66 have already jammed & things are looking good!
