NEW TATTOO MACHINES

ok, so ive just completed 2 more tattoo machines.


hand made brass jonesy frame with aged black patina finish, hand wound cloth wrapped coils with "candy apple" finish, antique chinese coin shelf washer, 1948 hong kong 5 cent coin contact screw, brass binding posts.



oil blackened iron bulldog frame with red paint, twin cloth wrapped hand wound coils, brass binding posts, custome budhist swastica contact screw.

CONTROL

just watched "control" a film by anton corbijn about the life/death of joy division vocalist ian curtis.
formed in 1976, they pionered the post/punk sound of the late 70's.
for those of you who dont know, joy division later became new order.
although they were only around for 4 years, they were an incredibly important & influential uk band, as new order were also to become in their own right.
joy division & new order are two of my favourite bands of all time.

ok, havent made a post for a few days, so thought i'd say something!
ive been working on a couple of tattoo machine re-builds, (i will post pics when they are finished) julia & i finished our canvases for the "skin & ink" show, & we went to see the ne indiana jones movie, which is awesome!

MORE RAT ALLEY!

Ok, so had a RAT ALLEY practise today & we have 5 new songs, 4 with vocals (one of them only has 3 lines!) & 1 that still needs some words.

SPOILT HK BANDS!

wow, just re-watched the Converge "long road home" video, & i realised most of the venues are like school halls! the pa's are not amazing, & yet anything less than perfection doesnt seem to be good enough for a lot of local hk bands.
then again, Converge have a true punk/hardcore attitude, these guys just wanna bust their asses playing as many shows as possible.
im glad a small punk scene is starting to show up in hk, oi! squad, defiant scum & my band (rat alley) will be playing more shows soon, & we will put on a good show with whatever we got!
if i could afford to i would be putting on shows everyweek, but with the cost of kit i cant, this could be one of the many things holding hk back, coz lets face it for a city like hk, the music scene is weak.

SCT Records.....

ok, so i just posted this pic on my other blog, but i thought i'd put it here too!
just had the new sct designs printed, mock up's of the 10" vinyl that i will hopefully (fingers crossed!) end up getting pressed! this is basically the format i would like all SCT releases to eventually be.

IRON MAN!

so, there is finally a GOOD Marvel movie!
saw iron man last night & it was awesome! didnt like x-men, hated spiderman (how is it possible to ruin spiderman?)
anyway, final some one has got it right. directed by JON FAVREAU (from one of my all-time favourite films swingers) has done an awesome job & Robert Downey jnr was great as Tony Stark
