Chris (Flahaven) copied a load of cd's for me, including the entire Anthrax back catalogue, & i'd forgotten how much i love them!
been rockin the early stuff non stop.

NEW MELVINS ALBUM!

it's called "nude with boots" & thought i'd hunt for it on the off chance it had been leaked...... & it had!
The band still includes founding member King Buzzo and Dale Crover, and they still have the Big Business guys Jared Warren and Coady Willis playing with them. didnt grab me by the balls like "(a) senile animal" (their last album, 2006) but it's really growing on me! some nice 70's rock moments, as well as some epic stuff & some typical melvins noise! due for release July 8th.
it will be their 24th anniversary this year, & they will be releasing lots of viny + a dvd so it's looking busy!

ha ha, this is something i knocked together for DP! been working on a few designs with Julia for DP shirt designs & decided i'd do this too! should post the shirt designs soon, just wanna get the final go ahead from DP.

TAD, BUSTED CURCUITS AND RINGING EARS

EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GO BUY THIS DVD!
TAD were one of the best bands to come out of the whole sub pop seatle scene in the late 80's/early 90's & along with the MELVINS are my personal favourites.
i just happend to see this in hong kong records & was amazed, this was the last thing i expected to find ANYWHERE in hk!

anyways, this got me thinking & i thought i'd just do a quick revue of what im listening to @ the moment, as im pretty sure a lot of you wont have heard of some/all of these bands & you should 'coz they are f*#king awesome!
quite a few of these bands (most of them!) are from louisville, seems to be a lot of shit hot bands from around there right now!

COLISEUM - these guys fuckin rule, probably one of my all time favourite bands!

PUSHER - unfortunatly these guys have split up, before their album has even been properly released! features members of breather resist, lords & coliseum.

BLACK CROSS - featuring members of coliseum, pusher, young widows, ex-national acrobat, ex-by the grace of god

LORDS - another one of my all time favourites, think black flag meets the melvins (could that be anymore perfect?!)

PRIDE SWALLOWER - awesome kinda 90's noise grunge, but now!

BLACK FLAG - ok, so im guessing most of you will know these guys, even if only by name! rollins is the man!

THE MELVINS - buzz is a fucking genius, totally insane but a fucking genius!

BAD BRAINS - fuck minor threat, these guys were where it was @! so wish i could have seen them back in the day.

TAD - check these guys out, doomed from the start, these guys had the worst luck but made powerfull music!

STAR CROSSED 2nd BIRTHDAY + DP's 1st BIRTHDAY!

it's been a while since my last post, so i decided to get my arse in gear!
i can finally announce that on the Saturday 10th May i will be organising a gig @ Sammi Kitchen, this does not mean i wont be working on Pier Pressure anymore, im just going to be doing some smaller gigs @ this venue.
anyways, it just so happens that this falls around about the time of Star Crossed Tattoo's 2nd birthday, + DP's 1st birthday so we are combining the 2 & it's going to be one hell of a party!
the support is yet to be announced, but i can tell you that Epiphone Guitars will be donating a customised bass to be given away as a "birthday present" to one lucky party go'er & Star Crossed will be giving away some tattoo vouchers.
i will post the flyer + more details asap!

THE DANGERS OF PAIN KILLERS!

so yesterday was interesting, having problems with my ankle (hurts like fuck, cant put weight on it, long story!) so i decide it's a good idea to use the pain killers julia was prescribed a while ago......... max dosage is 12 a day & i took about 16 in like 6 hours. resulted in me passing out for like an hour, then wandering into the kitchen & collapsing then passing out again.
remember kids, DONT DO DRUGS!

ok, so im basically getting sick & tired of seeing "vegan for life" & "100% vegan" tattoos in magazines (got no problem with vegans, but what does a tattoo proove? dont brag about being vegan!) so for my birthday i got this! EAT MORE BEEF!
